Sophie Christiansen is an eight time Paralympic gold medalist in dressage, with Cerebral Palsy, as well as a tech analyst in London


This year in Rio Sophie became triple Paralympic Champion in dressage, making her an eight time Paralympic gold medalist and one of Britain's most successful Paralympians. She was born with quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and started riding at the age of six with the Riding for the Disabled Association for a form of physiotherapy. At 13, she found that she could compete in dressage and was selected for the Athens Paralympic Games in 2004 as the youngest rider ever to compete at a Games aged just 16 and came home with a bronze medal. Since then, she has won 16 World and European titles to add to her Paralympic gold medals.

Not just an athlete, Sophie also has a first class masters degree in mathematics and currently works in London as an analyst for investment bank Goldman Sachs.
