When I was broke, I lacked motivation so often. But I realize now it wasn’t really bc the money situation. It was bc I hadn’t understood how important it is every day to ask, “Who needs me on my A game today? Who do I need to fight for today and show up for today?” That gave me motivation and drive beyond my dire circumstances. _ For me, it was seeing my then girlfriend have to sleep under my bills on the bed, buy my groceries, cheer me on through another lame excuse. My love for her and connecting to that DEEPLY and DAILY made me get my act together. _ 6 best-selling books later, 5 million fans on Facebook later, a Who’s Who list of coaching clients, cover of Success magazine, 13 blockbuster online courses, and hundreds of training videos on YouTube later.... it all came from deciding to fight for her. See? I’m not saying that I’m special or amazing - I’m illustrating that your growth finds its full gear when you have someone to love or serve or inspire. Someone to fight for - that got me out of my head and into my heart. _ The best part of it all? She married me. 10 years ago this next month. _ If these kinds of reminders help you, please share and follow me @brendonburchard _ #motivation #motivationmanifesto #highperformancehabits #thebrendonshow #grateful #lucky #desire #hunger #purpose #brendonburchard #motivationalquotes #motivationmonday2 days ago
Apparently Meghan Markle read my book The Motivation Manifesto and recommended it and people are excited about it. Thanks Meghan and Travel and Leisure - I didn’t know. For those of you who do not know the story of my journey writing the Manifesto – here’s a quick recap. I took three years off to write the book at great risk, and when I turned it in my publisher hated it. They didn’t get it. They told me to change it or give back the advance they had given me. I decided to fight for my art and stay with my vision. Ultimately, the editor literally called me crazy and they dumped the book. So I took the Manifesto and found another publisher and released it under an innovative deal. It became an immediate bestseller, shocking everyone - including me - and spent over 30 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list! It has since been translated in over a dozen languages. Then Oprah interview me on the book. Now, years later, this recommendation. So I say to you my friends: Never give up on your dreams. Do not worry about other people judging you, discounting you, rejecting you. Follow your heart. Honor the struggle that always comes with seeking great things. Believe in your voice and art and ability to succeed. You are stronger than they know, and the future holds good things for you. - #motivationmanifesto _ Please share and support my book The Motivation Manifesto on Amazon or wherever you get your books.
