What kind of services can we refer you to?

Our 2-1-1 program provides residents living in Barbour, Coffee, Covington, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston counties in Alabama with free access to community resources through information and referral (I&R). This access includes personal assistance by telephone and online through a searchable database of services (here), including the following:

It’s Time for the Fall Homeless Stand Down Event and We Need your Help The Southeast Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (SEACH) will host a Homeless Stand Down/Connect event in Dothan on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Donated supplies and volunteers are needed for the event. On November 3rd, a meal and much needed supplies will be delivered to homeless areas, camps and individuals. We are reaching out to the Wiregrass Community for items needed for the Stand Down. Please, no clothing except coats/sweaters and jeans only for men, women & children. There are many local organizations providing clothing on a weekly basis year round. Hygiene Needs: combs, hair brushes, personal hygiene items (Soap, Shampoo, Razor, Deodorant, Toilet Tissue, Hand Sanitizer, Wet-Wipes, Toothbrush and Tooth paste, lotion), and women’s hygiene items Bedding/Sleeping Needs: Tents, flat sheets, sleeping bags, air mattresses or cots Food: non-perishable food items to include POP-TOP easy open food, cases of bottled water Other Needs: flash lights, batteries, wallets, purses, camp chairs, Coleman stoves, personal camping sized propane bottles, belts, bikes, bug spray & backpacks Donations can be dropped off at the Wiregrass 2-1-1 office Monday - Friday (545 W Main St., Suite 313) until November 2nd between the hours of 8:00-4:30. On November 3rd, 7-10 a.m. Volunteers are needed from 7 - 8:30 a.m. on November 3rd to help sort and pack the food and supplies for the homeless. Volunteers are also needed from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. to deliver the food and supplies to homeless areas, camps and people. If you would like to volunteer on November 3rd, go to the Covan trailer in the back parking lot at Wiregrass 2-1-1, 545 West Main St., Suite 313 in Dothan. For additional info, dial 2-1-1.
